Here at Orange Fig we feel it is never too early to start planning for Christmas! We are very excited to announce we will be supporting Amigos with our Charity Christmas Card project for 2021.
Amigos has been transforming lives in Uganda since 2000, bringing hope and relief to individuals, their families and broader communities.
The charity works with children, young people and caregivers, providing education, training and infrastructure to create self-sustaining communities.
They offer access to training in vocational skills, conservation farming and communication skills and children are enabled to attend school. They facilitate long-term, sustainable transformations.
“By equipping each generation to become a changemaker, we can help communities to bring about sustainable change.”
You can find out more about Amigos and the work they do on their website amigos.org.uk.
How to get involved…
We want your images!
Do you have an image that could be used for one of our Christmas cards?
We are seeking out photographers who would like to donate an image to our project.
Please email a low resolution version of up to four photographs to firstname.lastname@example.org before 15th August 2021. We can’t promise to use all of them, but every image will be carefully considered. We promise not to use or share your images without your prior consent.
We’re aiming to raise at least £500 (but we hope to raise much more), with a minimum of £4 donated to Amigos from every pack of eight Christmas Cards.
Here is how £500 could help Amigos carry out their important work:
£500 will sponsor a Kira Farm trainee on a transformation journey out of poverty and despondency.
The impact of sponsoring a Kira Trainee is far reaching: upon graduation, each trainee returns to their community where most go on to share their newfound farming and communication skills, set up their own business and employ others.
You can find out more about Kira Farm and the sponsorship programme on the Amigos website.
Let’s raise £500 and help change the life of a community.
We hope you will get involved and help us make a real difference!
